When there are multiple developers in a single environment, you may encounter project locks frequently. Project locks occur whenever a metadata change like adding or editing attributes. With all of the moving parts of the development life cycle, project locks during Object Manager migrations can also be an annoyance.
Luckily, there is the option to create Object Manager packages without locking the project. The setting is easy to get to. It is in the Tool > Object Manager Preferences
Next open the Connections tab and enable the "read only" options
Now you can freely create Object Manager Migration packages without locking the project!
