Hidden Flash Document Option in MicroStrategy

Back in 9.x MicroStrategy had Flash as an available options for creating documents. They've continued to support Flash with the caveat that it is deprecated so that your previously created Flash dashboard can continue to be used without any interruption.

So, can you create new Dashboards in the flash format? Yes you can! The option is just buried in developer settings. As of version is 11.1, these are the steps to enabling the flash option on a document.

You'll need to open your document in developer. Select Format> Document Properties.

Select the document menu option and enable the Flash option.

Now when you open the document in web, you'll see the Flash option available.

A word of caution; newer features are not supported in Flash. Think derived attributes in documents. Have fun!
